Chimpsy Take Two

So you might remember a couple months back LeeAnn and I took a photography field trip class with a company called Chimpsy. We had tons of fun in our DSLR I class so when another groupon came along I decided to try DSLR II. Unfortunately the class went to the same locations but it was a new chanllenge because rather than shooting in AV/TV mode we shot in manual. It was definetly good practice for me because I tend to shy away from that M button on my dial. Here are some un-edited shots from Saturday. Also - wanted to note it was no where near as fun without LeeAnn there!

Signature railroad shot - not my fav but it will do

Panning shot

There were these fun smart cars all lined up - perfect photo op!

So Cute

Fall Festive House

So I have been meaning to post this since we decorated the house for fall the second weekend in Sepetmber...oh you know - like 2 months ago? We've just been so busy the last couple weeks I never got around to taking pictures of our fall decorations until yesterday. I wanted to make sure I got pictures before we took these down and put the Christmas decorations up! Less than a month people!

Some of our leaf garland that's all around the living/dining room

Viva Las Vegas!

Last weekend we went to Vegas to celebrate Justin's 25th birthday. My parents, Justin's mom, and our neighbors Michael and Christine celebrated with us and it was a blast! We gambled at a lot of hotels, ate at a lot of yummy restaurants, went to see the Jabbawockees at Monte Carlo, went to the top of Eiffel tower (I can't imagine going up in the real one...twice as high - amazing!) and had a lot of free drinks! Here are some of my favorite pictures :) I only took my point and shoot because I didn't want to carry around my DSLR.

The Paris...so pretty at night!

Waiting for the Bellagio Fountain Show

The fountains show was to Celine Dion - I almost peed myself!

My dad @ Dig This...his first bulldozer driving experience!

He definitely loved the bulldozer!

This is only the beginning of his huge mound of dirt

We went to Freemont Street to see the shark tank/pool at the Golden Nugget

Freemont Street...much less creepy during the day!

Jabbawockeez show was AMAZING!!

On top of the Eiffel Tower!

Amazing views - love the colors!

We got to watch the fountain show from up top - very neat
I had to take a picture - I loved this do not disturb sign...so fun!
It was a quick trip to Vegas but we had tons of fun and can't wait till our next adventure...San Diego!!

Vacation in a Cupcake!

Last week it was my turn to make dessert for our neighbor dinner. I was feeling the post-vacation blues so I turned I turned to these Malibu Pina Colada Cupcakes with Lime Cream Cheese Frosting from my handy dandy Sweet Tooth Pinterest board! I think they came out pretty good - they were more dense than a regular cupcake but still tasty!

We Are In Hawaii!

Okay so first things first - if you've never seen the youtube video "Kittens Inspired by Kittens" go watch it right now! Ever since the first time I've watched that video I've wanted to be in Hawaii so I could say "We are in Hawaii!" and it not be a lie!! So yay for finally going back to Hawaii! I took 700+ pictures in Hawaii and decided it would be too overwhelming to recap our trip on here (I uploaded 200+ to facebook) so I decided I would share my favorite palm tree and sunset photos. What says Hawaii more than palm trees and/or sunsets!! Good thing I'm obsessed with both! Oh and I'll start out with a few sunrise pictures from the day we went up to Haleakala.

Finally we have some light! Come on sun!

Almost there - the changing colors in the sky are so pretty

Breathtaking!
