39 Weeks...Our Little Watermelon

Baby T is the size of a watermelon!

How far along: 39 weeks
How big is baby? Watermelon
Symptoms: Swollen hands/feet, shortness of breath when having braxton hicks, heartburn (thank goodness this showed up at the very end…I miss my spicy food!)
Maternity clothes: Yes – my workout shorts/tank tops are really the only comfy things at this point
Sleep: Mostly just eh…I have a good nights sleep every couple of nights but other than that it’s not great
Miss anything: Being able to sit up/stand up easily, being able to bend over, being able to breathe
Movement: Still having movements – but less (which is normal at this point in pregnancy since there’s not much room in there
Food cravings: Nothing much this week…I’ve actually had a decreased appetite
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: I’m 2-3cm dilated & 80% effaced and still having lots of braxton hicks –
Belly button in or out: Still thin & in…my mom saw my stomach this week and was like “What is that?! Oh – it’s your belly button!” Yep it’s a little strange looking
Wedding rings on or off: Off
Mood: Good but I can officially say I’m pretty uncomfortable…also getting anxious because it’s almost time!
Feeling boy or girl? Girl
Looking forward to: Meeting our sweet baby! Eek it’s so close!
Best moment of this week: Our last date night as a “child-less” couple…We went to PF Changs – mmm!

38 Weeks...Our Little Pumpkin

Baby T is the size of a small pumpkin!

How far along: 38 weeks
How big is baby? Small Pumpkin
Symptoms: Swollen hands/feet, shortness of breath when having braxton hicks
Maternity clothes: Yes – my workout shorts/tank tops are really the only comfy things at this point
Sleep: Same as last week – some good nights and some bad nights…and for some reason I like to wake up at 5am on Saturday only
Miss anything: Being able to sit up/stand up easily
Movement: Pretty frequent movements – jabs in my right side – poor baby has no room
Food cravings: Still sweets
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: As of my appointment last week I’m 2cm dilated & 80% effaced and having lots of braxton hicks – but no real labor yet…at least my body is starting to kick it into gear! On Saturday morning I woke up and took my blood pressure and it was pretty high (136/90) and I continued to monitor it throughout the morning and it went down a little but still really high for me. I started having some trouble breathing (which normally only happens when I’m lying down) and my heart was racing. I called the on-call doctor and she wanted me to go to labor & delivery to have some tests run. Justin and I went after lunch (probably a good thing we missed the rest of the A&M game!) and they monitored my blood pressure, contractions, and baby’s heartbeat for about an hour and a half. My blood pressure slowly decreased and by the time we left it was back to my normal range – 106/65. We also determined that during my stronger BH contractions is when I have difficulty breathing and the nurse said that’s okay (just annoying). I hated going there for no reason but would rather be safe than sorry!
Belly button in or out: Still thin & in!
Wedding rings on or off: Off
Mood: Good! I can’t wait to meet this baby!
Feeling boy or girl? Still girl but just so anxious to finally find out (and buy some gender specific clothes)!
Looking forward to: Meeting baby T…I can’t believe my due date is NEXT WEEK! Until then Justin and I have been enjoying a lot of time just the two of us but we are both so ready to meet this little boy/girl.
Best moment of this week: Finding out that I’m 2cm dilated/80% effaced – I wasn’t sure my body was going to do any of this on its own so I was really happy to find out it was at least starting the process of labor – woohoo! Also, getting our maternity pictures back from Magan! They are amazing and I can’t wait to share some of them…I’m so thankful she captured this special time in our lives! It’s going to take me forever to narrow down which ones I want to print/hang!!

37 Weeks...Our Little Winter Melon

Baby T is the size of a Winter Melon!

How far along: 37 weeks
How big is baby? Winter Melon
Symptoms: Swollen hands/feet at the end of the day, shortness of breath when laying down/reclining
Maternity clothes: Yep – stuck in my summer clothes even though it’s fall…luckily weather wise it’s still summer here
Sleep: Meh – I have good nights and I have bad nights – either way I’m up 3-4 times per night
Miss anything: Sleeping through the night (I know, you’re all laughing because that won’t be happening anytime soon!)
Movement: Lots of movements – lots of hiccups…I can’t fathom how this big ‘ol baby is moving around so much in there
Food cravings: Sweets
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: Not exactly. Started having Braxton hicks contractions on Tuesday – I haven’t had any all pregnancy so here’s to hoping my body is kicking its butt in gear to get this baby out! 36 week checkup: nothing going on yet :(
Belly button in or out: It’s sooo shallow & thin but still in
Wedding rings on or off: Off as a precaution
Mood: Good! I can’t wait to meet this baby!
Feeling boy or girl? Girl…Baby’s heartbeat was in the 140s at my 36 week appointment
Looking forward to: Continuing the weekly countdown to meeting this baby…and not having any plans since we are officially near the end! We have almost nothing planned for October since baby can come at any time!
Best moment of this week: Double date night fun with Magan & Dustyn including yummy food at Jack Allen’s Kitchen & seeing Maze Runner (such a strange movie!) Also, seeing the King & I play with my mom and her friend Diana. The play was really good but a 3 hour play was a little much at 37 weeks pregnant – but I powered through!

36 Weeks...Our Little Romaine Lettuce

Baby T is the size of a head of Romaine Lettuce!

How big is baby? Romaine Lettuce
Symptoms: Shortness of breath is back (but not as bad as before), hot flashes
Maternity clothes: Yes but my pants/shorts are starting to get a little uncomfortable with the band on my belly
Sleep: Good except for getting up every 2 hours to use the restroom every night
Miss anything: Not really
Movement: Lots of movements – lots of hiccups
Food cravings: Hmm nothing crazy this week
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: No…well Justin has been on google and thinks I’ve had some (hot flashes, not being tired, higher blood pressure, etc) but no contractions or anything like that
Belly button in or out: It’s sooo shallow but still in
Wedding rings on or off: Off…I can still get them on and off pretty easy and my hands don’t look/feel swollen but I don’t want to risk them getting stuck. I never thought I’d make it 9 months and through the summer with no swelling whatsoever but I made it to fall!
Mood: Good! I can’t wait to meet this baby!
Feeling boy or girl? Girl
Looking forward to: Our maternity pictures (we had to reschedule a few times in the last week due to rain – so weird!)! Justin’s birthday weekend! He’s hoping for a birthday buddy – I’m hoping baby cooks a little longer, although I wouldn’t mind if he/she makes an appearance soon :)
Best moment of this week: Hanging out with Kristin this weekend! We got in some shopping and relaxing…it was nice! Crazy to think next time we see them, baby will be here!

Baby T is the size of a Coconut!
How far along: 35 weeks
How big is baby? Coconut
Symptoms: Pelvis pain (if I overdue it)
Maternity clothes: Yes…Luckily I am able to work from home most of the week because my cotton shorts/tank tops are the most comfy thing right now
Sleep: Good except for the 3 times I’m up to use the restroom every night
Miss anything: Being able to get in/out of bed easily (or should I say easier because our bed is so high I always have a little bit of a hard time)
Movement: Same as last week – lots of movement and hiccups throughout the day
Food cravings: Milk, Dr. Pepper (what the heck is going on?!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: No but we do think the baby has started to drop because I am able to breathe SO much easier now and am visiting the restroom more often
Belly button in or out: It’s sooo shallow but still in
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Great!
Feeling boy or girl? Girl…I think?
Looking forward to: Hanging out with Kristin! They are coming up for Tyler’s bachelor party and Kristin and I are going to hang out while the boys do their thing. Also we start weekly appointments next week – ahhh!
Best moment of this week: We officially hit 35/35…35 weeks pregnant with 35 days left so the countdown is really on now! We had a fun game night with Friends, another win for the Aggies, and a relaxing weekend just the 2 of us…which we know are numbered!

Baby T's Nursery

Baby T's nursery has been pretty much done since July - the crowning molding was the finishing touch (because you know...every baby needs crown molding haha)! Closet/dresser organization is an ongoing process but we are pretty much ready for this baby to get here....logistically speaking (although we hope he/she cooks a little longer)!

I knew I didn't want a "theme" in the nursery because it would be too limiting and I would not be able to branch out with ideas I had. I was also afraid I would get sick of a certain theme (yes, even owls). The first thing we chose was the baby bedding (which my parents got us as a Valentine's gift...so that tells you just how long ago we started planning this room! ha). I obviously wanted something neutral since we weren't finding out boy/girl and once I saw the Sumersault Doodle bedding I knew the colors/patterns would be perfect inspiration for the rest of the room! We decided on a grey for the wall I know - we really went out on a limb here ;)

I also knew from the beginning I wanted to do a collage of "E"s above the crib since it will either be little Eli or Emma's room.

We were lucky to find the exact dresser we wanted from a facebook buy/sell group for a fraction of the price and already built - score! I bought the lamp from target because I couldn't pass it up - luckily it worked out well in here!

I found the 2 quote prints on Etsy for above the dresser and knew I wanted 2 more prints. When I came across the multi-colored deer I was instantly sold! The feather print took me a little longer to hunt down. I kept coming across arrows (which I also loved) but I didn't want it to look like the arrows were shooting the deer haha. I found the feather print in black/white and was able to have it custom made with the colors I wanted. Justin helped hang in this configuration and I'm in love!

When we were deciding on a bookcase I knew it had to be pretty big since I have all my childhood books and we wanted to be able to have them out rather than in boxes. We went through them and separated out younger/older books - so yes - we still have {lots} of books in boxes for Baby T when he/she is older! Justin painted the backing of the bookcase aqua and I love how it came out!

This is one of my favorite parts of the room :) I knew I wanted to incorporate a picture of Hunter & Lexie in the room but wasn't sure if Justin would go for it or not. I was literally thinking of how to approach it and Justin suggested getting our announcement picture we took printed on a canvas! I was so excited and love how it hangs over the dogs bed (we wanted them to feel like home in the room). Speaking of it feeling like home - I'm pretty sure they think it's their room and we have added all of this and decorated it for them - they will be very surprised come October! haha

So the closet isn't completely organized yet but we have a pretty good start on itWhoever designs closets to have 2 doors with a wall separator is a moron! This is such a big closet but so awkward to use because of the wall in the middle (the inside of the closet goes all the way through). We've got diapers stacked up to the ceiling by size. We have drawers in the middle space that have misc items (paci's blankets, wipes, toys, etc).  On the other side we have the closet doubler so we can hang all of the tiny clothes! A lot of the items stacked on the shelves (and on the floor) will be opened when baby comes but for now we are storing in here.

I can't believe that in less than 2 months this room will have an occupant! Not right away since the baby will sleep in our room for a while - but I'm sure I'll take him/her in their room a lot considering even now I like to just go in there and hang out!

33 Weeks...Our Little Honeydew

Baby T is the size of a honeydew melon!

How far along: 33 weeks
How big is baby? Honeydew Melon
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, pelvis pain (if I overdo it) & some extra fatigue this week
Maternity clothes: Yup! Although I can still wear some of my pre-pregnancy workout tops (they’re stretchy)!
Sleep: Sleep is still good…It seems like an every other night thing – One night I’m up 1-3 times to use the restroom and the next night it’s 3-5 times…so some nights are better than others but I still wake up rested regardless
Miss anything: Being able to breathe normally 24/7, being able to bend over easily & being able to get up from the floor easily
Movement: Yes – lots of rolling movements this week – and hiccups every day (usually a couple of times per day)
Food cravings: My mom’s homemade mustard pickles (my great grandpa’s recipe)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In but thin!
Wedding rings on or off: On - no swelling here!
Mood: Great! Feeling much better than last week!
Feeling boy or girl? Back to girl this week
Looking forward to: Being done with all of our infant classes! Infant/child CPR and then we are officially ready for this baby to get here (in like 6.5 weeks!)! Rachel’s visit this weekend & watching the first A&M home game of the season! Whoop!
Best moment of this week: Seeing baby T on the ultrasound! He/she is squished in there and weighs approx. 4lb13oz and is in the 65 percentile for growth! The head is measuring at a due date of 9/29 – in the 98th percentile but the doctor doesn’t seemed concerned (or too confident that the measurements are that accurate). Heart rate was in the 150s again and baby has hair!! I was most excited to see if he/she has hair during the ultrasound :) Also, spending a relaxing weekend with Justin and getting to visit Magan & Dustyn at the lake (we were supposed to go with them but broken arms kind of mess things up)!

Profile of Baby T - with his/her little hand & foot :)
Poor baby T is alll smushed up against my uterus!
Baby T & I were ready to cheer on the Aggies for the first game vs S. Carolina!
Check out how that belly has changed in the last 3 weeks! It's crazy that Baby T probably won't grow anymore length wise - just chub up before he/she makes their entrance!

32 Weeks...Our Little Jicama

Baby T is the size of a Jicama!

How far along: 32 weeks
How big is baby? Jicama
Symptoms: No new symptoms…still shortness of breath is the main one – plus the pelvis pain if I overdue it.
Maternity clothes: Yes – the A&M shirt I got for my birthday that looked huge fits pretty well now!
Sleep: My sleep schedule was a little off this week with everything that went on with myself and Justin (below). Getting up to pee one million times per night…and none other nights so it just depends. When I’m asleep – sleep is good. Getting into bed or flipping myself over causes lots of grunts and noises!
Miss anything: Being able to breathe normally 24/7
Movement: Yes – not quite sure how he/she manages to move as much as they do because they are running out of room in there! Hiccups almost every day now – poor baby!
Food cravings: Fruit and more fruit
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Still in but I’d hardly call it a belly button anymore
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Stressed…full of stress this week
Feeling boy or girl? Boy…for some reason when I was picturing the baby being born this week – all I could picture was a boy
Looking forward to: Our ultrasound this week! Doctor wants to make sure Baby T is good to go after the health scare last week. Also looking forward to using our kitchen again, relaxing and no more health scares/broken bones!
Best moment of this week: Our kitchen being completely D.O.N.E (not without lots of heartache though)
Worst moments of this week: Okay I had to add this one in for this week only, no more bad weeks allowed! My preeclampsia scare (would have had to deliver Baby T this weekend at 32 weeks…TOO early!) and Justin breaking his arm (in the hospital parking lot after breastfeeding class). Plus all of the stress Lowe’s caused this week during our backsplash installation – boo! OH and then our air conditioning going out on Saturday afternoon (remember how it's August...In Texas...and it's over 100 everyday?!). We are definitely hoping for a better week this week :)

31 Weeks...Our Little Pineapple

Baby T is the size of a Pineapple

Hunter decided to join my picture again!

How far along: 31 weeks
How big is baby? Pineapple
Symptoms: The transition from 30-31 weeks has been an interesting one. I’m finally starting to feel uncomfortable – not all of the time – when standing up, laying down, rolling over, etc. I’m getting full faster – but then get hungry again not long after. Shortness of breath. Linea negra is starting to make its appearance.
Maternity clothes: Yes – that belly is definitely getting bigger! Shirts are getting shorter – uh oh!
Sleep: Same as last week – sleep part is good – getting in/out of bed to use the restroom not so fun.
Miss anything: Being able to breathe normally 24/7
Movement: Lots of movement throughout the day. Baby got hiccups for the first time (that I could feel at least) on Monday and again during the week – such a strange feeling!
Food cravings: Still wanting lots of fruit
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Not sure how but it’s still in
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Good! Getting more and more excited about baby’s arrival – how are we in single week countdown now?!
Feeling boy or girl? I don’t really have a feeling this week – other than it’s going to be one active baby!
Looking forward to: Our kitchen being DONE and the house getting put back into order (& cleaned)!
Best moment of this week: Feeling Baby T’s hiccups – and more and more movement. Relaxing in Schulenburg – literally didn’t do anything – it was so nice!

30 Weeks...Our Little Cabbage

Baby T is the size of a Cabbage!

How far along: 30 weeks
How big is baby? Cabbage
Symptoms: Shortness of breath when lying in certain positions.  I’ve noticed I “over-do” it a lot easier these days and it takes a toll on my pelvis – luckily rest gets it back to feeling better.
Maternity clothes: Yes – I am noticing a few of my shirts are starting to get a little shorter – uh oh!
Sleep: Still good – just getting harder to get in/out of bed when I have to go to the bathroom multiple times a night!
Miss anything: Not this week
Movement: Lots and lots of movement these days – baby better enjoy it because he/she is going to run out of room pretty quick!
Food cravings: Any kind of fruit
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: I feel like this is a silly one to leave on here at this point
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Not sure how but it’s still in
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Good! I think I’m in full on nesting mode (but it’s not that much out of the ordinary for me – which is why the nursery has been pretty much done for weeks haha)
Feeling boy or girl? Still girl this week – Only 4 at my shower guessed boy so maybe that’s swaying me this week??
Looking forward to: Our new counter tops being installed! (I can’t wait to see the final product – but not looking forward to the mess) A relaxing weekend in Schulenburg with Tyler & Kristin!
Best moment of this week: My Austin baby shower thrown by my sweet friends – Ashley, Christine & Magan! It was such a fun celebration of Baby T! Also, we had our first birthing class this week…it’s getting real you guys!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yes – although I think my belly changed shape this week
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Still in
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Pretty good except for being upset about the lump we found on Hunter last week. Luckily it appears to just be a late reaction from his rattlesnake vaccine (turns out Lexie has a lump too) and it’s nothing to be worried about thank goodness!
Feeling boy or girl? I don’t have any strong feelings this week but I’m going to stick with girl this week
Looking forward to: My baby shower in Houston this weekend!! I get to see lots of friends all in the same place and celebrate baby T! Also seeing LeeAnn who is visiting from Australia!! If there is an award at the shower for who traveled furthest it will definitely be her!!
Best moment of this week: Spending some time with Justin’s parents, getting our crown molding done, and finalizing our plans for our kitchen remodel (details coming soon)!! Also, officially closing on our first house…it was bittersweet to say goodbye to it but it will be nice to not have to worry about renting/selling when baby T is only a few months old!
